Dar's Delicious Deviled Eggs

These are a family favorite and make a great holiday appetizer. Unfortunately I never measure so combine the ingredients at your discretion (I have listed approximate measurements below).

Miracle Whip 3 Tablespoons
Ketchup 1 Tablespoon
Mustard 1 teaspoon
Celery Seed 1/2 teaspoon
Dash of salt
Paprika sprinkled over the top of each filled egg
6 - 8 Hard boiled eggs

Peel the boiled eggs and cut in half horizontally. Remove the yokes, put in a bowl and mash with a fork. In a separate bowl, combine first 5 ingredients - will be salmon color. Combine this mixture with the yokes and stir. With a teaspoon, fill each egg white with the yoke mixture. Sprinkle the top of each egg with a bit of Paprika.

Variations - Add shredded cheese or place a bit of lunchmeat, seafood or olive slices on top. Mix a bit of tunafish with the egg mixture and then fill the egg whites. If you want a slightly different taste, use Helman's instead of Miracle Whip. I have probably done 50 different things with these eggs and once made 300 for a friend's wedding. They went like hotcakes. Enjoy!

It is hard to believe that Channel 5 has been a pioneer, providing stellar programming and paving the way for other stations for 60 years. When I think back to all of the fond memories I have of the shows and broadcasters that have come and gone it touches my heart. People like Dorothy Fuldheim, Tom Field, Paige Palmer, Captain Penny, Jungle Larry and Safari Jane will never be forgotten. Mike Douglas, Bill Gordon and Fred Griffith actually created the format of the talk shows and morning shows we see today even on other networks. WEWS is known for so many FIRSTS in the industry it is truly amazing. And today, WEWS is still an innovator, providing us with the best overall News, Weather and Sports coverage with fabulous broadcasters like Leon Bibb, Danita Harris, Ted Henry and Mark Johnson. PLUS, WEWS has a magnificent Troubleshooting Team which includes Angie Lau, Joe Pagonakis and Duane Pohlman. This is a team you can trust. Take a glimpse into the history of this wonderful station. Here's to 60 more amazing years, WEWS. You are truly appreciated! http://www.newsnet5.com/video/14869420/index.html

For Such A Time As This - By Lisa Ryan

Today's young women are bombarded with messages contrary to the Christian life. They need a clear vision of purpose in order to walk as "princesses in God's court." For Such a Time as This: The Disciplines of Destiny, by Lisa Ryan, cohost of The 700 Club, helps women from the ages of twelve to twenty-five find their unique gifts and destinies. It draws on the biblical example of Esther, as well as modern-day role models, to deliver nugget-sized lessons on character traits such as courage, chastity, grace, and dignity. For Such a Time as This will transform young readers into mature women of God. Both of my daughters have read this book and simply love it and recommend it for all women.

Christmas Tree Tips

For many people, decorating the Christmas tree is a favorite part of the holiday. The National Safety Council offers some safety tips to make sure a mishap doesn't spoil your holiday season.

Christmas Trees
A real tree can add to the spirit of Christmas by filling your home with beauty and the scent of pine. But a real tree can also pose a fire hazard. Each year, more than 400 residential fires involve Christmas trees and tragically nearly 40 deaths and 100injuries result from those fires.

Try to select a fresh tree by looking for one that is green. The needles of pines and spruces should bend and not break and should be hard to pull off the branches. On fir species, a needle pulled from a fresh tree will snap when bent, much like a fresh carrot. Also, look for a trunk sticky with sap.

Cut off about two inches of the trunk and put the tree in a sturdy, water-holding stand. Keep the stand filled with water so the tree does not dry out quickly.
Stand your tree away from fireplaces, radiators and other heat sources. Make sure the tree does not block foot traffic or doorways.

If you use an artificial tree, choose one that tested and labeled as fire resistant. Artificial trees with built-in electrical systems should have the Underwriters Laboratory (UL) label.

Oil of Olay has Done It Again!

Oil of Olay has created a wonderful line of products called Regenerist. The Micro-Sculpting Cream is better or just as good as those that may range $100 or more. The Olay Regenerist Micro-Sculpting Cream is unique because it is formulated with the exclusive Olay Amino-Peptide Complex. Although other products may contain a peptide, Olay is the only brand that has combined a specific pentapeptide, Pal-KTTKS, with other proven anti-aging ingredients (vitamin B3, vitamin E, pro-vitamin B5, green tea extract, and allantoin). This unique complex helps to regenerate skin's appearance without compromising skin's moisture barrier. It renews skin's outer layer, helps skin appearance regenerate quickly, and strengthens skin's moisture barrier revealing skin that looks, feels, and behaves more like new skin.

As your skin regenerates, your budget won't degenerate!!! (A little Mom Squad humor)

Akiane Kramarik: Child Prodigy

We are all blessed with talent from God, some have even more than one. Sometimes it takes awhile for us to realize what we are good at but this young lady realized her artistic gift 6 years ago, at the age of 6! Her art work and poetry are truly amazing, and definitely something The Mom Squad wanted to make sure you knew about! She is also utilzing her talent to help the needy. "I really want to help needy people, especially the Lithuanian's aka the 'garbage children'. Lithuania has the highest suicide rate in the world. They need help with food, medicine, and I really want to build a free hospital for them."

As we approach this wonderful Christmas Season, let's also remember those less fortunate in our prayers and in our efforts.
