It's a Great Time for Apple Recipes! - Enjoy Apple Butter Spice Bread

1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp salt
1 1/4 cup apple butter
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
2 cups all purpose flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
3/4 tsp. allspice

Preheat oven to 450. Grease 9x5 loaf pan. Beat butter and sugar untl creamy; add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Set aside. Sift and mix flour, baking powder, salt, baking soda and allspice. Add to cream mixture, alternate apple butter and stir in nuts. Pour into greased loaf pan. Bake 60-70 minutes or until wooden toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove bread from pan and cool thoroughly. Makes approximately 10 servings.

Feel free to add chopped raisins, toasted coconut or dates and/or to top with a mixture of apple butter and cream cheese.

My friend and I were recently discussing about how we as a society are so hooked onto electronics. Reading this post makes me think back to that discussion we had, and just how inseparable from electronics we have all become.

I don't mean this in a bad way, of course! Ethical concerns aside... I just hope that as the price of memory falls, the possibility of copying our memories onto a digital medium becomes a true reality. It's a fantasy that I dream about every once in a while.
