Add your personal seal to any envelope by placing a lighter under a crayon to melt a few drops of wax into a foil-lined cup. Pour the wax over the sealed edge of the envelope and let it harden slightly. Press a raised stamp into the wax to complete your creative seal.

How about fixing those marks on your wooden floor? Cover them with a crayon of a matching color by rubbing it over the scratch, after it's filled, buff the area with a polishing cloth and the mark will be gone!

And just in case the little ones got creative on your wall with crayons, you can easily remove it by directing the air from a hair dryer at the stray marks, the heat will melt the wax, letting you easily wash away the 'artwork' with a hot soapy cloth.

If you child artist enjoys creating artwork on your walls consider putting large sheets of paper on one wall and allow them to go to town.

No-mess painting! If you are painting around window panes and don't want to spend the money on that expensive painters tape, try using newspaper. Cut it into two inch strips and dampen in a bowl of water. Squeeze out excess and apply to the panes where they meet the wood. The paper sticks to the glass long enough for you to paint and will peel right off when you are done.

Do you have terra-cotta pots with a salty residue on them? Don't toss them out, clean them with a mixture of 1/4 cup white vinegar, 1/4 cup rubbing alcohol and 1/4 cup water. The vinegar removes the salt, and the rubbing alcohol sanitizes them.

More tips coming soon, so keep coming back to the Mom Squad Blog. Be sure let us know if you try any of the tips we post here and how they worked for you.

I attended in May and had one of the best times of my life. The atmosphere truly inspired me. I could feel the intensity from the reading of one piece, I laughed so hard at the humor in another piece and desired to explore the history of the Native American thanks to another piece. Come early and order a bite to eat. Develop your works and submit for consideration for a future reading! There is wonderful talent in Greater Cleveland. This just might be your time to get involved.

Getting Bikini Ready...

It is incredible that at times, we eat in a healthy manner, drink plenty of water, take a good multivitamin, exercise at least 30 minutes 3+ days a week and yet, those pesky last 20 lbs. will not leave us. I started to remember that my Mom used to make homemade eggnog for us every morning and I have been having a taste for eggnog lately, soooo I decided to look into the benefit of eggs on the body. Check this out. It gives some wonderful info regarding the benefit of incorporating eggs into your weight loss plan. Eggs provide the BEST protien and if you have ever used a protien powder, you may know that companies are either using an egg protien or trying to simulate the quality of egg protien.

I have decided to soothe my craving for eggnog AND set a new plan in motion to get the final pounds off. In addition to the wonderful routine I have going as listed above, for the next 14 days I am going to drink more eggnog and incorporate spinach salads, more fresh fruits, etc. I'll let you know how it goes. I don't want to lose too fast because then the weight will just return. I have maintained a 70 lbs. weight loss for 5 years now so this is the final push to break my platuea.

The basic recipe for eggnog is:

1 - 2 eggs (use the chart in the site above to calculate calories)

8 oz. of whatever milk you prefer (reg, low-fat, half & half, Almond Breeze, Rice Dream) and again calculate calories based on the package

1 to 2 teaspoons of cinnamon (cinnamon is wonderful for weight loss)
Sugar for me is a no no. Feel free to use at your discretion BUT a wonderful alternative that I use is Agave and some use Stevia, Equal, etc.

Feel free to add Vanilla, Nutmeg and Cloves to taste.

Pour all ingredients into a blender or shaker cup and enjoy!

With Summer finally here we all need to turbocharge our energy to keep up with all the outside activities ahead of us. Here are a couple ideas from The Woman's World Magazine...

1. Rev up by closing your eyes! A leading cause of daytime tiredness is eyestrain from staring at a computer for too long. Close your eyes every 20 minutes or so and roll them slowly from side to side for a few seconds. And we all know how great a 15 minute nap is when we can get it.

2. Walk away tiredness! Take a 5 or 10 minute stroll after meals to help you avoid feeling sluggish. Walking increases the flow of oxygen through your body and helps provide that extra energy.

3. Chomp on chewing gum! Chewing gum increases the flow of blood to the brain so you think more clearly and have more zip.

Three simple things we can all do to give us the energy we need to be the Moms we want to be!

Everyday products....unusual uses!

Ever wonder what you can do with Jell-O, Vinegar and Shaving Cream that isn’t listed on the package? You can use them to help make your backyard beautiful. Here are some tips from Woman’s World Magazine.

Make your garden grow faster with Jell-O. Sprinkle powdered Jell-O mix on your plants instead of chemical fertilizers to make them grow. Jell-O’s gelatin delivers nitrogen, which speeds sprouting and powers plant growth, while its sugar feeds microbes in the soil that produce fertilizing nutrients.

Mildew proof your deck with vinegar! Spray undiluted white vinegar on your cushions or deck, leave it on for an hour or two then rinse clean. Vinegar is a natural antibacterial, disinfectant and antifungal. It not only kills germs and mold on contract, it stops them from growing back.

Get plastic furniture clean with shaving cream! Just foam it on vinyl cushions and plastic, rub in with a sponge and hose it off. Shaving cream is basically just condensed soap, plus skin-softening ingredients that help loosen tough stains so they lift off easily. It also polishes metal furniture.
