Kitchen Wisdom 2 Perspectives (Helpful/Oh So Funny)

Martha Stewart: Stuff a miniature marshmallow in the bottom of an ice cream cone to prevent ice cream drips.

Cartoon Character Maxine: Just suck the ice cream out of the bottom of the cone, for Pete's sake! You are probably lying on the couch with your feet up eating it anyway!

Martha Stewart: To keep potatoes from budding, place an apple in the bag with the potatoes.

Cartoon Character Maxine: Buy Hungry Jack mashed potato mix. Keeps in the pantry for up to a year.

Martha Stewart: When a cake recipe calls for flouring the baking pan, use a bit of the dry cake mix instead and there won't be any white mess on the outside of the cake.
Cartoon Character Maxine: Go to the bakery! Shoot, they'll even decorate it for you!

Martha Stewart: If you accidentally over-salt a dish while it's still cooking, drop in a peeled potato and it will absorb the excess salt for an instant 'fix-me-up.'

Cartoon Character Maxine: If you over-salt a dish while you are cooking, that's too bad. Please recite with me the real woman's motto: 'I made it, you will eat it and I don't care how bad it tastes!'

Martha Stewart: Wrap celery in aluminum foil when putting in the refrigerator and it will keep for weeks.

Cartoon Characer Maxine: Celery? Never heard of it!

Martha Stewart: Brush some beaten egg white over pie crust before baking to yield a beautiful glossy finish.

Cartoon Character Maxine: The Mrs. Smith frozen pie directions do not include brushing egg whites over the crust, so I don't.

Martha Stewart: Cure for headaches: take a lime, cut it in half and rub it on your forehead. The throbbing will go away.

Cartoon Character Maxine: Take a lime, mix it with tequila, chill and drink! All your pains go away!

Martha Stewart: If you have a problem opening jars, try using latex dish washing gloves. They give a non-slip grip that makes opening jars easy.

Cartoon Character Maxine: Go ask that very cute neighbor if he can open it for you.

Martha Stewart: Don't throw out all that leftover wine. Freeze into ice cubes for future use in casseroles and sauces.

Cartoon Character Maxine: Leftover Wine?????? HELLO!!!!!!!

As I have mentioned previously, I love this group. If you are a writer or actor or aspiring to be, this is a wonderful way to network and be inspired. This will be the first time I am sharing one of my scripts WITH ANYONE! I am so honored by this privilege. Develop your works and submit for consideration for a future reading! There is wonderful talent in Greater Cleveland. This just might be your time to get involved. Come early and order a bite to eat. Hope to see you there.

Smart ways to use Lip Balm!

No more Band-Aid marks! To get rid of that lovely Band-Aid residue that happens after you remove a Band-Aid from a healed cut just rub some lip balm over the area, then rinse off, the waxy solution will loosen the adhesive on contact!

Fix a sticky zipper! Help that zipper glide again by rubbing some lip balm on the teeth of the zipper, then zip and unzip a few times to fully lubricate the zipper.

Got a ring stuck on your finger? Instead of painful pulling and tugging rub a little lip balm around the area of the ring and gently wiggle the ring off.

SUMMER STRESS...NO PROBLEM!`

Recharge with Melon. Cantaloupe helps protect skin from the sun's damaging UV rays, thanks to it's ample supple of lycopene. And it's packed with water. Studies suggest that 50% of us are dehydrated right now, and two common symptons are irritability and fatigue!

Rub on suncreen to relax! Not only are you protecting your skin from the sun's rays, studies show that the scent of most suntan lotions - like coconut oil or cocoa butter - calm the nervous system and makes you feel happier because it's associated with the beach!

Pick up a book or magazine! Spending just six minutes reading can reduce your stress levels by more than two-thirds. In fact, researchers report, reading calms frazzled nerves faster than listening to music, going for a walk or sipping a cup of tea.

So grab a big bowl of melon, rub on some lovely scented sunscreen and pick up that book or magazine and spend some time destressing! YOU DESERVE IT!
