Instead of presenting a timeline or lecture on the city’s bicentennial, the community decided it would be more fun to spotlight Chardon’s past through stories, songs, and dance. Soon, an “Our Town”-style play evolved, with live music and a series of vignettes chronicling pivotal stories of Chardon’s past as told by re-enactors. The play introduces people and events that shaped the city – from the area’s first mid-wife, Nancy Carter (who was African American), to events during the Civil War, the Great Fire of 1868, the interurban electric railway, the dramatic uphill car races, and, of course, the Maple Festival and deep snow.WKSU on-air host Jim Blum, a lifetime resident of Chardon, takes the audience on a historical journey as a time-travelling narrator, weaving the stories together and creating a theatrical experience.

Well It Is Fall Once Again and a Great Time To Share Recipes!!!

Hey Ladies, I hope you will take some time this week to look back at the Archives of Fall Recipes that we shared this time last year. And, what a wonderful time of the year to share some new ones.  The cooler temps are making me have a desire for a bowl of chili and a nice warm pumpkin dessert.  Mmm, though it is 5:30am I could go for either one of those right now. LOL.  So think of your best recipe and send it in to themomsquad@955thefish.com along with your contact info, between now and October 18.

You just might win a prize....
